A week went by and no earth shattering news. Oh, I did get my prize that I won....my pink boots. Like them! I know....they are kind of weird looking but, hey...who cares...I don't. Wore them this morning to go get the paper...Ü Last Friday Juan and I didn't go out for fish fry but we are tonight....yeah!

Washington's birthday....also all you can eat fish at 4 Friends which is probably where Juan and I will go this evening. They have the best fish! Last night John came over with his three weeks of laundry...ahhh! Why he waits so long...???? Watched American Idol and watch the four poor kids who got booted. Also watched Celebrity Aprentice which I really like....MaryLou Henner got booted...don't know if I would have choose her...not liking that Pierse guy...and Omarosa (not sure of the spelling)well, she behaved herself and wasn't over-bearing. Don't know what's on tonight...probably nothing. You would like with all the channels we now have, something would be good to watch. Think I liked it better when we only had six channels....2, 4, 7, 9, 50 & 56....that's was enough.

The doorbell rang....and who was there but our old neighbors from across the street...who are now divorced! So all evening I hear how they should have never moved from the house across from us. They had wanted a bigger....much bigger house so they had one built. Went crazy with spending and with the cost of a mortgage, utility bills, etc. they lost the house and their marriage. They have a daughter, who is now 10, so she is the reason they still see one another. They are now each seeing someone else...the man is seeing a woman who has never married but has terrible credit. The woman is seeing a man who is recently divorced with three children and has a huge monthly child support. ahhhh The woman and her daughter are now living with her parents. She has no job and gets food stamps. They are both 40 years old. I don't understand.

Oh....and the reason for the beer song and photo?.....they both like to drink....a lot....like we had to drive them home type drinking. Fun.

The Friendly Giant....remember that program? The giant would play this song on his flute at the beginning and ending of the show. I believe it was a Canadian show. Alex should remember it. The song was also sung in the movie "Pollyanna". Pollyanna and Nancy sang it while on their way to deliver some kind of jam to Mrs. Snow's house. And remember that piece of cake from the fair. HUGE! Liked that movie...remember taking my cousin Sandy to see it at the Drive-In on Telegraph Road. Sandy always reminded me of Haley Mills. Last night "The Parent Trap" was on with Haley Mills....a much better movie than the one with Lindsey Lohan.
Tonight...American Idol. Will be watching as it is one of Juan's favorite show. See that it will be on three nights. Tonight, I think the girls sing...tomorrow the guys and then on Thursday they kick off twelve. Think that's how it goes.
I like watching Project Runway, America's Next Top Model and Top Chef. Think America's Next Top Model is starting this week....and....at the same time as American Idol. Will have watch them here in my computer room so I can keep switching back and forth.
Heard from the hotel in Mexico today. They have to two extra nights available that I wanted. Good! This way we will be in Mexico for two weeks. The two extra days I plan on having us go to some different towns in the area that we hadn't seen....like Xochimilco, Taxco and Cuernavaca. Xochimilco is where they have those canels where you ride boats all decked out in flowers. Taxco is famous for its silver and Cuernavaca is "the city of eternal spring". Looking forward to all of it.

Rainy, rainy, rainy. Getting tired of these very cloudy days. Always think that spring should come on January 2nd. Snow and cold for Christmas and that's it. Now I like snow, but not all these cloudy days. Need some brightness.
Finished up Uncle Joe's estate and sent out the rest of the proceeds to everyone. Not that much but something. Will have to give the tax person a call tomorrow to ask a question about deductions.
Still three more weeks until they start on our bathroom make-over. Hope everything goes as planned and there are no surprises. All the fixtures will be Kohler, Devonshire Collection, brushed nickel. The brushed nickel sometimes looks like it has a goldish color...all depends on how the light is hitting it. That's what I liked about it since the tile is shades of beige. Thought it would look nicer next to it.
Pictures above look a little silly next to one another. Rain and then toilet paper...hehehe....oh well.

Night before Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Had to have a romatice song playing so who better to sing one than...well, you know who. Ü Went and picked up Uncle Joe's final tax returns and sent off an email to all the cousins. Will talk to the lawyer tomorrow to see if we are owing any more to them. If not, then can finally close this thing up. Almost three years....geeh!
So enjoy this song and have a great day.

Ummm...12th....Lincoln's birthday...don't think it's President's Day today...has to be on a Monday...maybe next Monday...must be. Anyway, did the above layout with some of the pictures from Saturday. Named it Juan's Taco's even though there is not a taco in sight....ahhh. John came by yesterday and saw that his back tire was losing air so he went to Discount Tire and found out that his aluminum rim had cracked. Spent mucho bucks to get four new rims. If you get a car don't ever get alumiunum rims, they all end up cracking in time.
Valentine's Day will soon be here. Love this song that is playing.

Here are pictures from Saturday. Wish anyone would have picked up the camera and taken more. Oh well....next time, right! About eleven people didn't show up but that was alright as we had about twenty people. The next day Juan and I went to Uncle Stanley's and brought him and Aunt Lois some tacos. COLD yestereday...today, not so bad.
Song you are hearing now was voted Record of the Year last night at the Grammy's. Like Amy Winehouse, just hope she gets herself together.

Taco Day

Well, it's here....Taco Day! Everything is pretty much ready. Taco's are set, table's and chair's are set....just have to cook them and make the guacamole, put the meat & cheese salsa together and we are set. A couple of people won't be able to make it tonight. My one cousin and his wife won't be coming in from Chicago to be with his parents so will take some tacos over to my uncle's tomorrow. Also, some friends are ill...pneumonia and strep throat...good grief! Still will have over twenty people here. Should be fun.

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Well, we got all the stuff for Saturday. Went to Sam's Club to pick up the meat, avacados and some other stuff not for the party. So we are all set to start putting the tacos together tomorrow. Have to go get Uncle Joe's final taxes done this afternoon. Am so glad that his estate is almost finished. He will be gone almost three years already and that California bank was such a headache. Live and learn. At least it gave a good interest rate. Ü

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......ha........aye! Getting the party underway. Juan is heading out to Bagley and I'm a goin' to Gordon's and Kroger's. Tomorrow, getting Uncle Joe's taxes done (finally will be done with most everything), Sam's Club, and John coming over to bring up the chairs. Friday is the putting the taco's together day to have them ready for Saturday. Saturday, Alex will be here sometime in the morning. So everything is coming along...now if the weather cooperates. We are suppose to get snow...just hope it is not too much.

Well, it's that time again! To go from platinum to blonde....and get it shorter. Only thing with my getting a haircut is that it is time for the dogs to also get theirs cut. GiGi is not much of a problem but Aspen is bad news. Still can wait awhile with them....probably until the end of the month. Have to go get more tranquilizer pills for Aspen. Even with that John has to wear thick gloves and hang on to her while she is getting her haircut. Ahhhh.
Juan is going to Detroit tomorrow to pick up the tortillas and stuff. We will probably go over to Sam's club to also pick up some stuff. Will have John come over Thursday and bring up the chairs and tables. Going to have a packed house.

Sunday Night, February 3, 2008

Love it when the under dog wins. I am not a football fan by any means but I did watch this one. Very good game...enjoyed watching it. The commericals on the other hand were not very good except for a few. The Justin Timberlake one and the one with Naomi Campbell dancing to Thriller....those were pretty good. Also liked the guy breathing fire and the screaming squirrel. They didn't show the two I saw on the internet....the deaf people one and the funniest one, I thought, the one with the parrot. Oh well...should go to the site that is showing them and see if they are in there somewhere. Thought that Jordan Sparks did an exceptional job of singing the national anthem but, am not a big Tom Petty fan and didn't think that show was anything special.
So...think we are finished with football? Yeah....sure we are!

Saturday Night, February 2, 2008

Groundhog saw his shadow....six more weeks of winter. Am not really understanding when the groundhog doesn't see his shadow. Does Spring come right away or does it mean that Spring will be in six weeks? I know....I could look it up.
Did my first Craig's List listing today. Check it out.... Ü
http://detroit.craigslist.org/zip/560976305.html
You probably will have to copy and paste.
Tomorrow...the day most every man in the U.S. has been anticipating....The Super Bowl. Am not a fan of football so don't really care who wins. I just like the commercials. Saw a couple of them...the Pepsi/Justin Timerberlake one is pretty good and there is one with a white parrot (not sure what they are called). It was for some beer...forget which one....anyway it is hilarious....at least I thought it was. You will have to watch for it.
So if you are a football fan or if you are like me and just like the commercials...enjoy your night.

Friday, February 1, 2008

Well, the giant amount of snow we were supposed to have received (12 inches) last night was only about 3 or 4 inches. At least that is what we recieved...don't know about other areas. Think all the press it got yesterday scared most of the school districts as I know the Plymouth/Canton schools closed for today. Good for the kids... especially since it is a Friday....nice long week-end for them. It is lightly snowing outside now but will only add less than an inch. At least everything looks pretty outside.
On another note....came across this song. The woman singing right now is Claudine Longet who used to be married to the singer Andy Williams. Leaving Andy Williams she hooked up with some skier named Spider something. She killed him and got away with it because of shoddy police work. Of course, she said the gun fired by mistake. She ended up marrying her lawyer.
